Vic Pidermann Homicide Investigator of the Year Award

PICS Vic Pidermann Award 2014
The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) is proud to announce that on Friday, January 3, 2014, the Victor Pidermann Homicide Investigator of the Year Award for 2013 was presented to recently retired Homicide Detective Daniel Rivers.

The award is named after Victor Pidermann, an MDPD Homicide Bureau Detective who was well respected by his peers as a hard working professional and a great father and husband. On October 13, 1997, at the young age of 35, Victor suffered a heart attack while playing basketball. Despite heroic lifesaving efforts, he died at a local hospital.

Each year, with the assistance of the Police Officer Assistance Trust, the award is presented to the Homicide Investigator of the year who best exemplified the qualities Victor exhibited both personally and professionally. The award is open to all Miami-Dade County Agencies.

Our congratulations go out to Detective Rivers on this well-deserved honor!
