May 2019

The POAT Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at the exclusive Indian Creek Country Club.  More than 120 golfers teed up to assist Miami-Dade County’s fallen officers’ families.

The Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Ceremony will be held at Tropical Park beginning at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 2, 2019. All Miami-Dade County law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty dating back to 1895, are honored at this ceremony.  It is our duty to honor the memory of those officers who have died protecting and serving the citizens of Miami-Dade County.  If you have never been to this ceremony, you owe it to yourself to attend. This year, four names will be added to the wall: Florida Corrections Officer Tawanna Marin, struck and killed by a vehicle while supervising an inmate work crew; Florida Corrections Sergeant Jorge Ramos, died after collapsing during a statewide Correctional Emergency Response Team competition; Miami Beach Sergeant Larry Marrero, suffered a fatal heart attack while participating in his department’s physical fitness program at police headquarters; Miami-Dade Police Officer Jermaine Brown, killed in an ATV crash while conducting an enforcement detail. Click here to see a livestream broadcast of the ceremony on the day of the event. Broadcast will begin at 7 p.m.

Thanks for your support and stay safe.
